Rules
We prefer to keep things fairly simple around here. So, without further ado...
1. Be excellent to each other! Please respect everyone out of character regardless of the role they play, and set the standard to be treated similarly. Peace is most easily kept in good company. So let's try to get along, yeah?
2. Across Our Stars takes place over both Proboards and Discord. Whether you role play exclusively on the site, on the server, or do a bit of both is up to you, of course! Due to it being a central touch point for the moderation team to get news out and communicate freely with members, however, we ask that you please have a Discord account you do not mind joining our game's server with, even if you do not intend to role play there.
3. Regarding claims: Across Our Stars is an illustrated FC site. Meaning, we accept only animanga, comic, or original character claims.
4. Regarding posting: AOS has no word count limit - we only ask that you provide enough for your partner to work with. This ties back into the first rule - respecting your fellow members involves working out how you would like to conduct the role play among yourselves.
5. Regarding accounts: While you are not required to make an OOC account unless you are a participating staff member, we request that each individual character have their own account. We have no hard limit on how many characters you can create nor any activity checks, but please note that characters that have not shown activity for 1 full month will have their threads and corresponding pages (e.g. plotters, diary) archived. The player may request these to be restored at any point up until the second full month of inactivity, at which point the account will be deleted. This is to keep things tidy and reasonably well organized.
6. AOS is Mature, but not NSFW. While Proboards by nature requires content remain PG-13, the community this site is intended for will run the gamut of being for a tasteful 18+ crowd.
7. If you're writing about sensitive subjects, please include a content warning. This applies for things such as drug use, abusive situations, or moderate to intense violence included in applications or posts. As a general rule of thumb, if you've written a paragraph that reads a little dicey, err on the side of caution.

- Please note, however, that we do require linked credit to the original source on all non-official artwork used. Respect of the artist is critical - if an artist specifically requests that their work not be used, it is our duty to comply. If you would have to say 'credit to the artist' due to not knowing the origin of the art you're using, we ask that you do not use it.

- In this case, 'tasteful' means 'may discuss mature content and themes, but the content itself is not specifically geared to be overly sexual or gory in nature'. If you do want to role play such things, please do so privately offsite. We're just here to be old and vibe, my friend.
